25.02.2026 - NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY
The Department of Microbiology at St. Anne’s Arts and Science College celebrated National Science Day on 25th February 2026 with great enthusiasm by organizing a Poster Competition titled “AI Med Tech 2026,” highlighting the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in medical science and drug discovery. Students from various Science Departments actively participated, with BCA and B.Sc. Computer Science students presenting on “AI in Human Health,” showcasing applications in diagnostics, patient care, and healthcare management. Microbiology students from all years formed nine groups and presented innovative posters and working models on emerging topics such as AI in drug development and preparation, AI-based clinical trial screening, virtual screening methods, antimicrobial and de novo drug designing, and the future of AI-driven microbiological research. The presentations reflected strong research orientation, teamwork, and scientific understanding. Dr. Shoba Gunasekaran, Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology, D.G. Vaishnav College, Chennai, served as the Resource Person and commended the students for their confidence, clarity, and interdisciplinary approach, encouraging them to pursue research integrating biology and technology. The program concluded successfully with positive feedback, inspiring students to explore the expanding scope of Artificial Intelligence in microbiology and healthcare while truly embodying the spirit of National Science Day.
