The Eco club of St. Anne’s Arts and Science College organised a webinar on Environmental issues and Bio-Diversity on 24/04/2021 at 11.00am. Dr. Ramanibai, Former Professor & Head, Department of Zoology, University of Madras, Guindy campus delivered a lecture with power point presentations on Environmental issues and Bio-Diversity.

She enlightened the threats of bio-diversity and consequences of climate change. She also explained about Plankton which is defined as the microscopic plants and animals which forms a primary food source for many fish and their larvae as well as other organisms and its utter importance for the functioning of the aquatic ecosystem. She requested the students to grow more trees to get more oxygen and insisted them not to use plastic Items. she described about the impacts of plastic products in the environment. The session was interesting and informative. Around 67 students of eco club benefited from this webinar.
