St. Anne’s Arts & Science usually aims at enriching & encouraging the knowledge & the talent of the students. In continuation of this aim even in this lock down period, The English and Tamil departments collaborated and conducted an Inter College speech competition & essay writing competition with the topics that are related to the current & ongoing issues in order to keep the students updated with the outside happenings. The invite was passed on to many colleges on May 7th. The essays & speeches were submitted on 12/05/2020 via mail.

The given topics were "Is politics mixed with the current situation or is it only the virus that is responsible for our hard times?" , "This lockdown has expanded our family time & strengthened the family bonds" , "Who are the most underrated Covid-19 frontline heroes & why?" , "Unemployment & Job opportunities in post Covid-19" , "As an individual, how would you contribute in preventing the spread of the virus? , " How productively one can use this lock down period?" . These interesting & ongoing topics made students from various college to eagerly participate.

We were overwhelmed to see 150 participants in essay writing & around 40 participants in speech competition. The results were declared on 17/05/2020. The participants were issued with an E- Certificate to appreciate their skill & participation. The 1st, 2nd & 3rd place students were honoured with a special mention in their E-Certificate.
