Microbiology Laboratory

St. Anne's Microbiology Laboratory is well-equipped and supports B.Sc. Microbiology students in the learning process. The lab offers a sterile environment, crucial for safe and effective microorganism handling. It features a Laminar Air Flow chamber to ensure aseptic conditions during microbial culture work, preventing contamination. Core activities in the lab include sample processing, culturing and identification of microorganisms, Molecular Techniques, Immunological screening, and the Isolation of microbes from Food, Air, Soil, and Water samples.

Students gain practical skills in Microbiology, including the use of modern equipment, aseptic techniques, and accurate culture handling. They also become proficient in microbial identification and laboratory safety protocols. This hands-on experience strengthens students' scientific understanding and prepares them for careers in research, healthcare, food safety, environmental science, and biotechnology. The lab provides invaluable exposure to real-world microbiological practices, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
