The students of St. Anne’s Arts and Science College watched the live telecast of Ayalagath Thamizhar Dhinam 2026 (Non-Resident Tamils Day), held in Chennai on 11–12 January 2026 under the initiative of the Government of Tamil Nadu, in the college auditorium. The programme, celebrated to honour and connect Tamilians living across the globe, highlighted the cultural heritage, language, identity, and achievements of the Tamil diaspora while fostering unity beyond geographical boundaries. Through speeches, discussions, and cultural presentations, students gained insights into the global contributions of Tamilians and the opportunities available in education, employment, entrepreneurship, innovation, and international collaboration. The session also inspired students to preserve Tamil language and culture, embrace cultural pride, and aspire for excellence while remaining rooted in Tamil values. Additionally, awareness about government initiatives, scholarships, and support systems for youth and overseas Tamilians provided practical knowledge, making the live viewing a highly enriching and motivating experience for the students.
