The Department of Commerce, Corporate Secretary ship and Accounting & Finance together conducted a webinar on the topic “Financial Awareness” for all the 2^nd  year students. The guest speaker for the webinar was Mr. Francis Felix Joseph, a Financial Education Counsellor from ICICI Foundation. The webinar took place on 2^nd November, 2020 between 3.00pm- 4.00pm in the Google Meet platform. The main topics covered in the webinar are need for savings, various savings options (savings account, fixed deposit scheme, recurring deposit scheme, multi option deposit scheme, mutual fund/ shares, E-FDs.) Explanation about procedure/ process of investing in various savings options was given in detail. The speaker also focused on Insurance and on various types of insurance schemes available for the customers. He explained about various government schemes and Yojana’s like PM Suraksha Bima Yojana (Accidental death insurance), PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (Life Insurance) etc., The difference between Rupay, Visa and master card was given and awareness of fraud while using different cards was also explained by the speaker. The session came to a close by clarifying various quarries by the students and the with a word of thanks.
