On January 11, 2021, District Health Educator, Mr. Maria Arockiasamy from Public Health Department, Government of Tamil Nadu in collaboration with Health Club conducted awareness programme on COVID-19. The programme was highly relevant of current times’ pandemic situation globally. He illustrated history and background of COVID-19 disease and explained why it is declared as a notified disease. He recalled on many people who suffered from this deadly virus and lost their lives; and it was highly educating and gave insight into the actual seriousness of the problem. He played videos regarding virus containment measures at home and at public place; preventive and protective measures to be taken individually to stay afloat during this situation. Interactive session was held thereafter to address the doubts of the participants.
