The Department of Microbiology of St. Annes Arts and Science College organized Guest Lecture

How to Process the clinical sample on 24 th July 2024. The resource person for the Guest lecture

Dr. Naveen Kumar, Founder and Director, Immugenix Biosciences Pvt. Ltd.Chennai. The speaker

explained the procedure how to write the patient details in the record, collection and labelling of

samples, usage of various containers and the labelling in the containers for the collection of samples,

transportation of the clinical sample, storage of the clinical sample and the selective media used for the

isolation and identification of bacteria and fungi. During processing the sample, the diagnostic material

should label properly during the diagnosis. He also explained the students about the role of Medical

Microbiologist in the diagnosis of a clinical sample. Students were actively answered the questions

during the session. They also learned the role of microbiologist in the current scenario
