09.02.2026 to 15.02.2026 - NSS CAMP
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Special Camp of St. Anne’s Arts and Science College, Madavaram was successfully conducted from 09th February 2026 to 15th February 2026 at Vadaperumpakkam and nearby areas, beginning with an inaugural function presided over by the Principal, Dr. I. Annamal Arputha Mary, who emphasized the significance of community service, leadership, and social responsibility among students. Throughout the seven-day camp, NSS volunteers actively engaged in various community-oriented activities including cleanliness drives at the Samuthaya Koodam, pond areas, roads, and public spaces, along with awareness initiatives on waste management and hygiene. The volunteers extended their service to Vadaperumpakkam Adi Dravidar Thodakapalli by cleaning classrooms, whitewashing walls, and organizing competitions for school children. A Drug Awareness Rally, fact-checking awareness programme, and social message wall drawings were conducted to educate the public and promote responsible citizenship. Environmental initiatives such as a tree plantation drive near the village pond were carried out, coupled with awareness on ecological conservation. A Free Medical Camp was also organized, providing basic health check-ups, consultations, and medicines to villagers, while promoting preventive healthcare practices. The camp concluded on the seventh day at Vadapetupakkam with cultural programmes and a valedictory function, where the NSS Programme Officer presented a summary of activities and the Chief Guest appreciated the volunteers’ dedication. Overall, the camp was highly impactful, fostering teamwork, discipline, and a strong sense of social commitment among students while positively contributing to the community.
